Rhodes Mk8 sound demo: from clean to grit, so many sweetspots!

From smoky jazz tones to in your face funk. From clean and open, to fuzzy grit. This baby does it all, with class to spare. The Rhodes Mk8 is probably the most expensive keyboard you (or I) will ever play - unless you meet someone with a Jupiter 8 they are happy to let you loose on. I was lucky enough to get this lovely example - complete with gold sparkly finish - on loan (while my old Rhodes 54 went on tour with a jazz-funk band in Eastern Europe) - and it's been a pretty mind-blowing experience. It's also been quite a steep learning curve – if, like me, you’re used to the simple old-school Rhodes with a single, passive output, and no real controls to speak of ... the Mk8 will take a lot of time to fully explore. It's deep! But it sounds (and feels) incredible. So for anyone curious about how it actually sounds – here’s a 10-minute demo with no talking, running through (almost) every aspect. Spoiler alert: not surprisingly, this thing is full of sweet spots (so it should be for the price, I hear you say - and you’re right!). Every second playing it is a joy, even for an (at best) mediocre hack of a player like me. Enjoy - and don't forget to like and subscribe!
