The SL550 is a roadster which is in essence a two seat convertible. The roof is 13 lbs. lighter than the previous model thanks to the use of lightweight magnesium materials. The 2013 Mercedes SL550 has an MSRP price of $103,650. The SL550 is powered by a twin turbo 4.6 liter V-8 engine that produces 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque. The 7-speed automatic transmission features wheel mounted paddle shifters as well as 3 distinct driving modes: ECO, Sport, and Manual. Combined with the start-stop system the 2013 Mercedes SL550 has a fuel economy rating of 16 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway which is better than the previous model.
