Peugeot 404 GT, 1972
This 404 Grand Tourisme was first registered on May 12, 1972, in Bruinisse, near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The original delivery documents, including the warranty card and specifications for the tow hitch, are available. On November 29, 1999, the car changed hands within the Netherlands. On November 2, 2021, the Peugeot came to Germany and was registered in Gnarrenburg, between Bremen and Bremerhaven. This owner had the car, which until then had been completely original, repainted. On March 7, 2022, a collector of well-preserved, popular cars from Müllheim im Breisgau purchased the vehicle. This collector bought a Peugeot 304 Cabriolet from us and entrusted us with the sale of the 404. According to the previous owners, the car's total mileage is 107,873 kilometers. While this cannot be verified, the car's excellent overall condition, and especially its interior showing minimal wear, make this figure seem plausible. The excellent compression readings of the original, matching-numbers engine fit perfectly into this picture. As a relatively late 404 of the 1972 model year, the car not only features the improved gearbox with the standard H-pattern shifter, but also front disc brakes and a robust brake booster. Selected optional extras include a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, and period-correct coconut fiber floor mats. We subject every vehicle to a systematic inspection – from the bodywork and engine to the electrical system. Based on this, we prepare three offers. You decide which one best suits your needs.
