I went undercover inside Zhanxi Watch Market in Guangzhou, China—one of the biggest and most fascinating replica watch markets in the country. Behind the ordinary storefronts, I discovered countless replica watches and so-called “super clones” made to resemble luxury watches worth tens of thousands of dollars. I explored the different quality levels, filmed the market from the inside, and saw just how massive Guangzhou’s underground watch industry really is. Things became tense when sellers realized I was recording and told me to turn off my camera. Then, completely unexpectedly, the day took an even crazier turn when I stepped in to save a rat being used during a street demonstration.
