Iran's proxy, the Houthis, has reopened a new front in the conflict after firing missiles at Saudi Arabia on Monday (July 14, 2026) in retaliation for an alleged attack on Sanaa International Airport. The Ansarullah group believes Riyadh's action has ended the de-escalation period that has been in place since 2022. At the same time, Iran also warned Gulf countries not to further facilitate US military operations, as conveyed by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei via his official Twitter account.
