Hammock Suspension Options: The Becket Hitch... and what happens when you shock load it!

I've been experimenting with a few different types of suspension and I've liked using the Becket Hitch. It doesn't need any hardware and it’s easy to tie. However, it can be difficult to untie once it’s loaded. We'll go over this knot using a couple different types of webbing and check out the results. Also, while testing out this knot, I shock loaded the system and was surprised with what happened... IMPORTANT NOTE The carabiner I used with the flat webbing was not a rated carabiner. Any carabiner used as part of a hammock suspension should be tested to ensure it will support the weight and forces it could be subjected to. *** The content in this video is for entertainment purposes only.
