2 Days Caught in Freezing Rain and Snowstorm and Bushcraft Shelter under a tree trunk for one of the most brutal and beautiful solo camping challenges I’ve ever faced. Day 1: After hours of grueling trekking through deep snow and silent woods, I finally found the perfect spot — a massive fallen tree lying on the ground. Nature’s greatest gift. Using dry wood from around the area, I built a cozy shelter and prepared a hot meal and tea. Just as I was ready to rest, the sky unleashed. Heavy snow began pouring down relentlessly. I thought it would stop soon… but hours later, I was forced to fight my way back into the blizzard to gather more firewood. It was an incredibly tough and unforgiving night. Day 2: I woke up to a magical, completely snow-covered forest. I reinforced the shelter roof with thick layers of snow for better insulation and did some serious strengthening. Then I rewarded myself with a delicious cold drink and a juicy steak before preparing for the second night.
