The following morning, April 9, President Trump wrote on TruthSocial, "Now is a good time to buy," and announced a "90-day tariff deferral," causing global stock markets to surge. The U.S. S&P 500 index rose 9.5%, marking the eighth-highest daily gain in history, while Apple, which was purchased through Trump's account, climbed 15%, recording its highest daily gain since 1998. Nvidia also surged 19%. While federal ethics regulations require senior administration officials, including the President, to report securities transactions exceeding a certain scale within 45 days, it was revealed that Trump failed to submit these reports, even paying a fine in the process. On August 18 of last year, Trump purchased at least $250,000 worth of stock in Intel, a semiconductor company on the brink of bankruptcy. A few days later, the White House announced that the government would directly acquire a 10% stake in Intel under the pretext of fostering the U.S. semiconductor industry. Following the government's announcement of the stake acquisition, Intel's stock price skyrocketed, with the current increase approaching 370% compared to that time. As the controversy spread, President Trump dismissed the allegations in an interview with CNBC, stating, "My children manage the accounts."
