Veggie 365 has partnered with Mediterranean cuisine chef Marco Lo to launch a new program, "Finding Vegetarian Masters at the Cuisine Kitchen." This time, Marco will step outside the kitchen and travel across Hong Kong to find top vegetarian chefs, introducing them to viewers one by one! In this episode, Marco visits the studio of herbal cuisine chef Wong Lai-yin to learn about herbal vegetarian cuisine. Marco's voice was a little hoarse that day, so Chef Lo specially prepared "Stewed Snow Pear with Tangerine Peel" to help soothe his throat discomfort. He also demonstrated a dish of "Stuffed Morel Mushrooms," using a vegetarian filling made with tofu, carrots, and goji berries, stuffed into morel mushrooms and then pan-fried until fragrant—delicious and nutritious. Chef Wong Lai-yin is a winner of the "First Hong Kong Vegetarian Charity Cooking Competition at the Asian Vegetarian Expo." Several years ago, during the pandemic, he went to study herbal cuisine, hoping to learn about the therapeutic effects of different ingredients to help us regulate our bodies. Master Li Xian particularly emphasizes the accessibility of medicinal cuisine. Even using inexpensive ingredients, with careful pairing and meticulous cooking, it can still "nourish the body."
