The evening service of July 19, 2026, with Reverend D.H.J. Folkers, based on Zechariah 1:7-17. Theme of the sermon: Zechariah’s first night vision points us to: 1. What Zechariah sees: God’s sovereignty (verses 7-11) 2. What Zechariah hears: the passionate prayer of the Angel of the Lord (verses 12-13) 3. What Zechariah must preach: What God’s Kingdom will look like (verses 14-17) In a night vision, Zechariah sees a Man on a red horse standing among the myrtles in the depths. The Angel explains to Zechariah what this means. The red, brown, and white horses have passed through the land and saw that the land was quiet. But it was not the silence of peace, but of false rest. The Man, likely Jesus in the Old Testament, asks how long the LORD will not have mercy on Jerusalem.
