Kevin McGonigle leads Tigers trio with historic All-Star selection

Three Detroit Tigers players were selected to the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, which is scheduled for July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia: catcher Dillon Dingler, outfielder Riley Greene and shortstop Kevin McGonigle. In this video, I break down: McGonigle making history as the Tigers' first rookie All-Star since Matt Nokes (1987) and the Tigers' first first-year All-Star since Mark "The Bird" Fidrych (1976). Dingler earning his first All-Star selection after emerging as one of MLB's best all-around catchers. Greene becoming an All-Star for the third year in a row to join Al Kaline in Tigers history. Could McGonigle start? Bobby Witt Jr. recently suffered an MCL sprain but avoided the injured list. Tarik Skubal: No Tigers pitchers made the All-Star Game, but Skubal could still be added as a replacement. Subscribe for Tigers coverage.
