Drawing to record still life- exploring angles and art materials. Do you want to explore different angles and smaller sections in your drawing? Do you want to develop drawing skills and learn different techniques? Do you want to learn how you can use multiple materials to record from a still life object? The project theme is ‘Still Life’ aimed at GCSE art students. In this piece the students can gain marks for assessment objective 2 and 3, working on developing experimentation and recording skills. In this video I show you how to create a sketchbook page which explores different viewpoints and angles of the same object. This allows you to record your ideas and explore different techniques and materials. Firstly select an image, then sketch out a box before drawing your image into the box. Explore different drawing techniques such as- Using pen, pencil and fine liner Negative space drawing Contour drawing Continuous line drawing Sketchy line drawing Expressive line drawing Mark making drawing. Learn a drawing technique which could be explored in pencil, pen or fine-liner. Equipment needed- paper, pens, pencils, still life images.
