The Saturday Party - Starring Peter Barkworth
Play for Today 1 May 1975 BBC TV. Starring: Peter Barkworth, Sheila Gish and Judi Bowker. Stockbroker Richard Elkinson, played by Peter Barkworth is made redundant but goes ahead with his planned Christmas party anyway, bringing a different dynamic to the proceedings. A fine study of mid-life, middle class manners and worries, which led to a sequel: The Country Party in 1977. Both written by Brian Clark who in 1979 wrote the mini-series: Telford's Change, also starring Barkworth.
