These diaries were entrusted by Li Rui’s daughter to the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, in accordance with Li Rui’s wishes. However, Li Rui’s second wife, Zhang Yuzhen, filed a lawsuit to reclaim them, which Stanford University believes is being orchestrated by the CCP behind the scenes.
