Keňa - safari, příroda, jezero Victoria, Mombasa, Nairobi a kulturní šok | Travel vlog
Kenya was my first trip to the African continent and my 59th visited country. In October 2024, I set out to explore this fascinating destination that had been calling to me with its untamed nature, unforgettable safaris, and distinct culture. Although I initially had some reservations about Africa, I decided to overcome them—and discovered that Kenya has so much to offer. From breathtaking safaris in Amboseli National Park to excursions around Lake Victoria, every moment held its own charm. But as is often the case with travel, Kenya presented its own set of challenges, teaching me patience and adaptability. My journey began with a flight to Nairobi, where I rented a car and embarked on an adventurous drive toward Lake Victoria. Right from the start, I was struck by the local roads, where traffic rules often seem to exist only on paper. If you’re planning to drive in Kenya, I highly recommend considering whether you have enough experience and courage to face the local chaos. During the trip, I visited several fascinating places. The tea plantations in Kericho were among the most beautiful sights—endless green hills that exuded a calming vibe. The city of Kisumu didn’t particularly impress me, but visiting the local museum was a nice change of pace. The Kit-Mikayi rock formations, surrounded by local legends, were another intriguing stop. The highlight, however, came at Lake Victoria, where we took a boat trip to Mageta Island. This tranquil spot offered a serene escape, with the lake and its surroundings almost entirely to ourselves—a truly unforgettable experience. The return journey to Nairobi was just as eventful. We stopped by Menengai Crater, known for its impressive views, and Thompson Falls, a majestic waterfall. Another highlight was catching a glimpse of Mount Kenya, the country’s tallest mountain. While climbing it wasn’t part of the plan, the view of this iconic peak made all the challenges of navigating Kenya’s roads worthwhile. Safari in Amboseli National Park was the crowning moment of the trip. Over two days, we observed iconic African wildlife, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, flamingos, hyenas, and more. Kilimanjaro in the background only amplified the park’s unique atmosphere. Although I wasn’t able to capture lions on camera, the experience of being in the park was unforgettable. After returning to Nairobi, I enjoyed a break from driving, which was a relief. However, the city itself didn’t win me over. Exploring the local markets was more stressful than enjoyable, crossing roads felt hazardous, and the overall atmosphere didn’t seem particularly welcoming. I soon left Nairobi behind and boarded a train to Mombasa. The train ride was a pleasant surprise. It was fast, comfortable, and affordable—a rarity in Kenya. Mombasa captivated me with its more relaxed vibe and the friendly nature of its residents. Fort Jesus stood out as a remarkable historical site, but the highlight was visiting Mamba Village, where I got the chance to hold a baby crocodile—an unforgettable moment. The trip concluded with some relaxation on the beach, followed by a train ride back to Nairobi. From there, I flew back to Europe, carrying with me a wealth of new experiences and memories that Kenya had given me. In the video, I’ll show you how to enjoy a safari, what to see in Kenya, how to prepare for local conditions, and how to avoid unnecessary complications. I’ll share my personal tips, impressions, and experiences to help you plan your own journey to this beautiful, yet sometimes wild, country. 10 Places You Must Visit in Kenya / Enjoy my video from Kenya with 10 Things to Do in Kenya: 0:00 Introduction 0:21 Journey from Nairobi 1:10 Kericho Tea Plantation 1:20 Journey to Kisumu 1:41 Kisumu Museum 2:05 Kit-Mikayi 2:24 Lake Victoria and Mageta Island 3:15 Passing by Mount Kenya 3:29 Menengai Crater 3:45 Thompson Falls 3:54 End of the Day 4:17 Return to Nairobi 4:34 Safari in Amboseli 5:56 Back in Nairobi 7:20 Train from Nairobi to Mombasa 7:45 Mombasa 9:53 Final Return to Nairobi #Kenya2024 #AmboseliSafari #LakeVictoria #TravelAfrica #Nairobi #Mombasa #KitMikayi #KerichoPlantations #MagetaIsland #MenengaiCrater #FortJesusMombasa #AfricanAdventure #AmboseliSafari #TravelTips #TravelKenya #FirstTimeInAfrica #ThompsonFalls #AfricanNature #LowcostAfrica #gopro #gopro13
