Land Rover Discovery 3 (LR3) - Lower Steering Column Replacement

The annoying knocking, notchy and vague steering on my Discovery 3 has been driving me mad for a while, so I forked out for a genuine Land Rover part LR071146. Was it worth the extra money? Or should I have saved my pennies and purchased a cheapo one from that auction website? Plus a quick check on the lower, right hand, suspension arm to check my suspicion that the rubber bushes may be wobbly. This is a simple repair, but as always make sure you know what you're doing before messing with the steering and make sure everything is fully tightened and tested before attempting to drive the vehicle.
