Yamaha Venture XVZ12TK Talk! | MotoVlog 11

Due to the increasingly poor weather up here in the Pacific NW, and the fact it takes me hours to wash one of my Harley's to my specs, I've decided that it was time to break out my old faithful Yamaha. It's an '83 Yamaha XVZ12TK 'Venture'. It is a 1200cc V4 touring bike that Yamaha unsuccessfully tried to compete in the Honda Gold Wing market with. It was quite popular, and still has a big following, but never had a chance against mighty Honda Gold Wing, so Yamaha finally pulled it in the 90's. I had this bike from 1984~1985 and now again starting in late 2000. I have a long history with this bike... It's actually my third XVZ1200. I almost got fired from a Honda-only dealership I was working for in 1987 when I purchases a still-new-on-the-floor '85 XVZ1200 'Venture Royal' from a Yamaha dealer that also sold Honda's...
