With this in mind, Compétences Québec organizes the Quebec Skills and Technology Olympics. This event showcases young people who choose to pursue qualifications in Quebec's vocational training centers and CEGEPs. It is Quebec's largest competition for professional and technical trades and allows winners to represent Quebec at the Canadian National Competition and then at the WorldSkills Competition, which brings together 75 countries worldwide under the WorldSkills International banner. Compétences Québec also develops the Défi Des Recrues (DDR) in partnership with the Government of Quebec. This competition includes activities to raise awareness of skilled trades and engage high school students in the vocational training programs offered in their region. Building on its growing success, around ten competitions have been implemented across the province in various vocational centers since 2017. Compétences Québec also administers and develops several major online platforms for Vocational and Technical Training in Quebec. First, the Inforoute FPT website. Launched 20 years ago, it is the reference for information on the content, specific features, and admission requirements of vocational and technical programs. It also provides contact information for the 498 vocational and technical training educational organizations that offer these various programs. Second, the Regional Vocational Training Admission Service (SRAFP). Closely linked to the FPT Inforoute, this platform is an admissions application management system that allows vocational training educational organizations to centralize their information and provide students with simplified access to the admissions process. With over 800,000 visitors annually, the SRAFP is the gateway to Quebec's skilled trades. Third, Trouvetonmétier.com is a general information portal on Quebec's skilled trades and vocational and technical training. With over 200 listed job descriptions, the site offers concrete information such as placement rates, hourly wages, and career prospects for a given occupation. With several million page views annually, Trouvetonmétier.com is a leading authority in its field.
