The devil's peace is not chaos. It is the Christian who has stopped watching. It is when prayer loses its place, the Bible remains closed, and the presence of God ceases to be a priority. The enemy knows that a heart distant from the Lord becomes more vulnerable, so his strategy is not always to attack visibly, but to spiritually lull the soul to sleep. Little by little, he makes the person believe that everything is fine, even when communion has cooled, sin has ceased to bother them, and sensitivity to God's voice has disappeared. This is what happened in Gethsemane: while Jesus prayed, the disciples slept. They did not realize that the greatest spiritual battle was taking place before them. Even today, many continue to live this same reality, distracted, complacent, and without realizing that the real danger is not only falling, but ceasing to watch. The good news is that God continues to awaken those who are spiritually asleep. He calls his children back to the altar, to prayer, and to intimacy with His presence. Because a Christian who prays discerns, remains firm, and is not surprised by the enemy's strategies.
