Soloing the Armchair Traverse | September 15, 2025

The Armchair Traverse is one of Whistler’s classic alpine adventures — a 21 km point-to-point ridge hike with ~2400 m of elevation gain and endless panoramic views of Wedge Mountain, Mount Weart, and the Spearhead Range. This route isn’t for beginners — it’s long, exposed, and requires a good head for route-finding and scrambling. In this video, I take you along the entire traverse: from the approach through Wedgemount Lake, across the ridge of Mount Cook & Armchair Glacier, and down into the alpine meadows. This day hike took around 14 hours car to car. All footages shot on the GoPro Hero 10
