FIll sports ball pans 3/4 of the way and bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 30-45 minutes. Also bake an extra thin layer of chocolate cake, if your batter is vanilla flavored, you can use a food coloring, but if it is any other flavor you might need to bake a separate chocolate cake batter.. It can be baked in any pan you have in hand, it doesn't have to be the squared one, Thats just the one i had on hand. Let them cool completely before decorating 2. In the meantime, roll out a thick layer of white fondant and cut 18-20 pieces of hexagons. Then roll out a thick layer of black fondant and cut out 12-15 pieces of pentagons. You might have to trim a few pieces to fit in the bottom of the ball, depending where you started. 7. Use the fondant cutter with the embosser piece to recreate the stitching the soccer ball has. Go around the edge of every single piece of fondant. 8. Place the finished soccer ball on the cake board with a little bit of frosting at the bottom, then use the extra layer of cake to place pieces all around the ball, like if the ball was on a field and that was dirt. 9. Fill a piping tip with a star tip or a grass tip and pipe grass all around the ball, covering the empty spaces and covering as much as the dirt as you want.
