Looking at ancient Japanese history from the eastern part of Japan. The Saitama Kofun Group, home to the Inariyama Kofun, famous for its gold-inlaid iron sword, is actually an extremely important archaeological site that holds the key to the ancient history of the eastern part of Japan. We will explore the true meaning of this huge group of burial mounds, along with explanations of the Maruzukayama Kofun and Shogunyama Kofun. We will also visit Maetama Shrine, which holds the roots of the formation of Musashi Province and Saitama Prefecture, and get closer to the true nature of its main deity, Maetamahime! In this series, we will challenge a twisted view of ancient history that is overly biased towards the west. That said, we will do our best at a relaxed pace and take it easy!
