Educated at Ikpomaza Secondary School in Okpella, Sir Jerry later distinguished himself academically, becoming the first musician in Etsako to hold a master’s degree. This balance of scholarship and artistry set him apart, earning him respect both within and outside the music world. Sir Jerry’s career was prolific. He recorded more than 250 albums, creating a vast catalogue that blended highlife rhythms with Afemai folklore. Songs such as Afeghe, Iyeluweme, and Okpa Ikebe remain enduring classics, celebrated for their storytelling, cultural pride, and timeless melodies. Through his music, he preserved language, history, and values, ensuring that Afemai traditions reached new audiences across Nigeria and beyond. His influence extended beyond performance.
