This City Makes No Sense 🇪🇹

Travel to Ethiopia in 2026 and you'll quickly discover that Harar, Ethiopia is unlike anywhere else in the country. From hyenas roaming the streets to Ethiopian weddings, khat markets, camel meat, and some of the friendliest people I've ever met, this was one of my most surprising experiences in Africa. I came to Ethiopia expecting ancient Orthodox Christian history. Instead, I found myself in a Muslim city many consider the 4th holiest city in Islam (after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem). Over 48 hours, I explore the old walled city, try camel meat, learn why people eat ROCKS, and feed hyenas!
