As a result, the mountain is full of legends and seems to be a very complicated place. First of all, the official name of Tarobo Shrine, located halfway up the mountain, is Aga Shrine. Tarobo, from which the mountain is named, is said to be a tengu who protected the mountain. What's more, this tengu is apparently the older brother of the tengu from Kurama, Kyoto. At this point, you'll already be like, "Wow!" So the famous Kurama tengu had an older brother. And many historical figures have visited this mountain. Prince Shotoku, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Dengyo Daishi Saicho, and many more... It seems that it has been revered as a mountain of faith since ancient times. Tarobo is also known as Akagamiyama. I wonder if Mt. Akagami was originally called Mt. Tarobo, but it became Mt. Tarobo due to the influence of Tengu. It was also a mountain of Shugendo, and in the past, it had many torii gates, similar to those at Kyoto's Inari Shrine. It seems to have been a beloved mountain. This time, we'll be traversing Mt.
