Koreans Next Door Ep.3 (Mar. 2026) "From the hesitant knock at the door to the warmth of becoming a family." March 2026 marked a beautiful milestone for me. After nearly three months of waiting and watching from afar, I finally stepped through the door to attend my very first "Koreans Next Door" gathering. To be honest, it was beautifully awkward at first. Everyone was already laughing, fitting right into their own rhythms, while I stood there like a stranger, hesitant and frozen. But that awkwardness didn’t last long. As we sat side by side, sharing food, exchanging different views, and challenging our everyday routines, something magical happened. In just three short hours, my narrow perspective of Seoul cracked open, revealing a wider world of incredible diversity. We come from different backgrounds, speak different tongues, and carry different stories, but we broke bread together in that sacred space. In that moments, you became more than just strangers living in the same city—you became my friends, my neighbors, and a new family I am so happy to welcome into my life. Thank you for being a mirror that showed me the better version of who I can be. I am so incredibly grateful for that warm afternoon.
