Slay the Spire 2 is (also) a roguelike deckbuilder full of carefully calculated attacking, defending, and weighing the tradeoffs in both the short and long terms. https://store.steampowered.com/app/28... So, our boss this time around is the Waterfall Giant. I've heard some griping and complaining about it in the past few months, mostly different expressions of the idea that "yes, you can see the big explosion coming, yes, you have multiple turns to prepare for it, but you may not always be able to control your draw pile enough to consistently get enough block in-hand to block it." I get the idea that there is some amount of delaying, drawing-or-not-drawing, and just general trickery to make it more likely I can predict what I'll draw on that turn and what resources I'll have available to block that explosion... but I think those are still pretty valid complaints and so I'd better make sure I have enough health and potions to be able to deal with that explosion, and enough damage to kill that thing fast enough that the explosion isn't too big. ...So that means I'd better play the rest of this act carefully. Every HP I save by playing good lines could be relevant.
