And here it is, the final restoration of another vintage Dnepr-3 vacuum tube tape recorder. Mila and I spent four years working on it, leisurely. The case was completely repainted, and the radio fabric is a copy of the original. I also made a new cartridge; I actually rewound the cartridge from a Mag-8M tape recorder for it. The amplifier was also completely disassembled and reassembled. Now I have a detailed description of every solder joint and the wiring inside. I think I should take detailed photographs before they take the recorder away, but that's not really important. The main thing for me is this 15-minute video!! This short but valuable film. Thanks to everyone who took part in it and supported my idea. I'll tell you a little about it. Three beauties from the band Marshmallows came to our studio. The girls have been singing various songs from the fifties and sixties in three voices for a long time in clubs. They arrived with the perfect backing lineup for the task at hand: drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, and accordion. This entire large group of musicians agreed to simply perform three hits from the USSR in the 1960s. I placed a single microphone in the right place, connected it to the Dnepr, and recorded on an old Agfa CH tape. It was a miracle; there was no other way to achieve such a sound, and you'll hear it.
