REPLACING the water heater pressure relief valve - Caravan Video Part 27

When I had the caravan out at Thornwick Bay, the water heater started to leak as soon it was filled. At first I thought it was the drain plug because I could see water coming from there. Once the cowl was removed it was soon obvious that the source of the leak was the pressure relief valve. I bought a new pressure relief valve and a drain plug. As soon as I started to remove the old pressure relief valve it sheared off because it was brittle with age. In the end, I carefully hacked out the remnants and I was able to fit the new part with the tools I had to hand and I'm glad to say that the water heater is now leak-free. PLEASE NOTE: I’m just a DIY mechanic. I try to do things the correct way but sometimes I have to manage with what I have. Please treat this video as a “how-I-did-it” rather than a “how-to”.
