We jump from the frying pan into the fire when we depart Spokane, Washington during a record setting heat wave and arrive at an even hotter location. We make a detour to visit friends in Hermiston, Oregon, before making it to the Oregon Coast where temperatures plummet to half the maximums we experienced.
