Luma Range in Capture One 12
With the release of Capture One 12, I wanted to make a little video about the Luma Range function and a couple of common use case scenarios! For those of you who don't know what Luma Ranges are, you may be familiar with luminosity masks in Photoshop. This is that, with the ability to be used in the raw stage! It has even more controls for refinement too! This is important because the raw files have so much more leverage. being able to modify different luminosity regions of an image and tweak color, light, and contrast to that specific range is outstanding. If this is all gibberish to you, just watch the video and get ready to have your mind spinning with ideas. I just love that fact that you have layers so this can be just a part of your workflow. It keeps things extremely versatile! We'll explore a couple of images and how it can be used to balance exposure by really controlling where you adjust exposure values. I'll give you a few ideas on what else you can do. I'd like to give a special thanks to Ausra Babiedaite for these amazing shots (http://www.ausrababiedaite.com/)!
