Ikebana: À la mémoire de Tak (Shōka Shimpūtai)

Japanese floral arrangement dedicated to the memory of Harold Haruo Takayesu, ceramist who created this awesome little vase. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Hamilton in 2009. Please be indulgent for our first recordings, many details need to be worked out. Basic principles got heavily taxed by stress and technical challenges! Ikebana is one of the three classical Japanese arts of refinement. The Ikenobō school is the first official school of Ikebana, with over 550 years of written history. There are schools of Japanese floral art throughout the world. Shōka Shimpūtai is a modern floral arrangement proposing a main actor (Shu), a secondary actor (Yo), showcased on an accessory backdrop (Ashirai). Artist: Michel Donais, assistant teacher of Ikebana, 1st level (11th certificate), Ikenobō school. 00:00 Introduction 00:49 Shu: Alstroemeria « Peruvian Lily » 02:47 Yo: Cordyline Fruticosa 05:08 Ashirai: Chamelaucium Uncinatum « Waxflowers » 05:53 Finishing Touches 06:52 Reveal #ikebana #ikenobo #shoka #shokashimputai #生け花 #池坊 #生花 #生花新風体 #kenzan #alstroemeria #cordyline #waxflowers #flowers #flower #flowerarrangement #traditional #traditionalart #floralart #japaneseflowerarrangement #cutflowers #fleurs #fleur #bouquet #relaxation #arrangementfloral #traditionnel #art #arttraditionnel #artfloral #fleurscoupees #asmr #longformcontent
