The protest demonstration by the State Teachers' LT Adjusted Promoted Teachers' Struggle Forum continued for the second day at the Directorate of Education, demanding the granting of the selection promotion pay scale, including the basic service. Amid loud slogans at the protest site, five teachers from the Kumaon region began a relay hunger strike. Speakers at the meeting warned the government to desist from its neglectful attitude. The State Teachers' Union and the Personnel Unity Forum announced their full support to the movement. On Tuesday, Shiv Raj Bankoti, Diwan Singh Bora, and Kailash Pandey from Nainital, Bhagwat Bagdwal from Almora, and Bhuvan Joshi from Champawat began a relay hunger strike. In a meeting held at the protest site, chaired by Teachers' Struggle Forum President Digambar Phuloria and moderated by General Secretary Sujan Butola, Ramesh Chandra Pandey, Founder President of the Uttarakhand Personnel Unity Forum, cited the lack of communication as the primary reason for the protest. He said that the affected teachers want to know why the proposal sent by the department head to the government to amend the 2014 regulations has not been decided upon at the government level for two years. #Chet Jao Ramesh Painuli, Provincial General Secretary of the State Teachers' Union, announced his full support to the movement. Agreeing with the letter sent to the Education Secretary regarding the Director's call for a meeting on the suggestion of the Personnel Unity Forum, he said that he would also request the government to call a meeting and resolve the issue. State Teachers' Union Treasurer Laxman Singh Sajwan, Dr. Hemant Painuli, Jagdish Bisht, Kuldeep Kandari, Ravindra Rana, and Vijendra Nautiyal also announced their full support to the movement.
