The Hardknott Pass & Birker Fell Loop (England) - Indoor Cycling Training
The Hardknott Pass & Birkerfell Loop is a challenging double climb that takes you in an anticlockwise direction over Hardknott Pass and Birker Fell. The route starts at the Newfield Inn, immediately introducing you to the relentless climbs and descents typical of cycling in the Lake District. Some of the climbs are quite steep, but none compare to the infamous Hardknott Pass. This brutally steep ascent features constantly shifting gradients, with some sections exceeding 30%. Conquering this beast may require some strategic zigzagging. The descent is breathtakingly beautiful, but with its extreme steepness, full attention must be kept on the road at all times. The route then takes you down to Eskdale Green, where the next climb begins toward Birker Fell. The Eskdale approach to Birker Fell traverses a wide, exposed hillside, linking Eskdale with the stunning Duddon Valley. After the descent, the road loops back to the Newfield Inn, completing this exhilarating ride. Climbs on the ride: https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/har... https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/bir...
