Wintermute is the episodic story mode of The Long Dark. Will, a bored and down-on-his-luck pilot, is visited by an old friend, Astrid, a "freelance" doctor with a mysterious case. She needs Will to fly her to a remote part of Great Bear Island with "no questions asked".
