Color Along with Me - Coloring Book: Wonderlynn

One thing I try to keep in mind when coloring is not just choosing colors I like, but repeating them throughout the page. For this illustration from Wonderlynn, I used blues in the castle, ribbons, and water, and repeated the pinks and warm ochres in different areas of the page. It’s a simple trick, but it helps everything feel more connected and balanced. I colored the entire illustration with colored pencils, building up the colors slowly with light layers before adding the darker shades. For the background, I started with alcohol markers as a base and then layered PanPastels over them.
