Flangia per Mandrino Bison 125 Parte 1/2 #183

Manufacturing a flange for a Bison 125 spindle to be mounted on a Ceriani lathe, with a 20 mm bar diameter. The flange is made of plain steel from a 130 x 21 mm blank. It is mounted to the lathe spindle shaft using an M40 x 2.5 pitch screw. A brass stop screw, identical to the one on the lathe, was made to take measurements on the flange while machining the lead screw. The flange is secured to the spindle with three 8 x 35 Allen screws through 8.4 mm diameter holes. The spindle is centered after mounting on the lathe, checking concentricity with a dial gauge. Any errors can be corrected by leaving the fastening screws loose and tapping the spindle body on the eccentric portion with a plastic mallet until the eccentricity is close to zero.
