Restauración de La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Cholula Puebla

The Great Pyramid of Cholula in Puebla is the largest pyramidal base in the world, measuring 450 meters per side. The Church of Our Lady of Remedies, the Virgin of the Conqueror of Hernán Cortés, was built on this man-made hill. In the 1999 earthquake, this small church suffered damage and required the intervention of the INAH (National Institute of Archaeology and History), and in particular, Moisés Morales Arizmendi. As part of the restoration and prevention work, electrical wave measurements were taken to determine the subsoil and the densities of the pyramid's layers. A model of the sanctuary structure was also created to understand its movement. The restoration required more than two million pesos from the federal government. The work was supervised by the INAH (National Institute of Archaeology and History) and had the support of Mayordomo Ernesto Cuacuas Pérez and the community.
