Accused of revealing secrets, abuse of office, and aiding and abetting, he was fully acquitted in 2013, resuming his ever-ascending career, which led him, in 2019, under the Conte I government, to the appointment of Deputy Director of the Internal Information and Security Agency (AISI) with the title of General Manager of Public Safety. And then, a few weeks ago, to the role of Chief of Police. After a meeting this morning at the Palazzo di Governo with Prefect Claudio Palomba, Pisani arrived at the police headquarters on Via Medina around 12:00, welcomed by Commissioner Alessandro Giuliano, to attend the dedication of the Flying Squad meeting room in honor of Mario Bignone, the first Palermo executive to die prematurely at the age of 44. In his speech, preceded by his wife's emotional remembrance of Bignone, Pisani recalled the quality of the man and the investigator. He reconstructed the episode of the capture of the super-fugitive Pietro Licciardi, thanks to a delicate police operation carried out undercover by Bignone.
