Dear Theophilus: The Kingdom That Remains

Luke 21:5-38 This section of Scripture, Luke chapter 21:5-38, serves to pull together the “string of pearls” that we’ve been working through the last month or so, since getting into Luke 19… Issuing warnings about the kinds of things the Church is going to have to see, endure, and wrestle in the last days. From deceptions to natural disasters, God uses this time to both warn them about what’s to come, and remind them where to keep their eyes set while the world is thrashing around them. In telling the Church to keep their eyes on God while all of this judgement and disaster strikes, He’s also telling them “Watch, as I restore My People, to be the City on a Hill.” and "See what I will do when I break the box I’ve been placed in.”
