So, let's introduce the new Honda CB1000GT, venturing into a territory that lies somewhere between sport tourer and crossover. Obvious competitors include the Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX, and the BMW R 1300 RS. The technical basis is, of course, the CB1000 Hornet, released in 2025, but fine-tuned for longer journeys, with luggage and a passenger. It offers more comfort, more wind protection, and more functionality. Let's take it step by step. The engine has been carried over almost unchanged; only slightly modified tuning of the fuel injection and ride-by-wire system is intended to ensure smoother touring. With 150 hp at 11,000 rpm and 102 Nm at 8,750 rpm, the figures remain highly respectable. Furthermore, sixth gear has been lengthened to reduce engine speed on fast stretches. A quickshifter (up/down) is standard. The main frame is also carried over from the Hornet, but it has been supplemented with a larger and more robust subframe. A swingarm lengthened by 16 millimeters, combined with a new geometry, extends the wheelbase by ten millimeters.
