Well, there's a bunch of Shadowborn secrets and spoilers, don't watch if you are in the Manor playing the story line and want to figure it all out for yourself. The Warrior and Rogue are hitting their stride regardless of being low Skill Point Luddites. The Mage on the other hand is struggling and I'm not sure why. His puppet master obviously needs to change the approach, at this time in the game with 13 to 15 skill points allotted the Mage would be nearly OP and master of all situations, especially managing Wraiths and Dark Knights. The Sorcerer was my main for the longest time and I wonder if that is what's hobbling the adjustment to pure skill over augmented reality? At this point it is true the Mage has the least in Defense, he's still wearing the Chain Shirt he scored from the shop for coin, the Rogue pilfered a nice Sturdy Studded Leather Armor quite some time ago and while Warrior captured the Legendary Vest of the Lost Legion from the very first gargoyle he faced... These three are lvl 17/18 with only the two original skill points assigned during the tutorial.
