Venice- Generator Hostel 3 High Water

I'm sure many of you who have heard about the 'high water' in Venice are wondering what it's like to experience it. High water in Venice basically means that, in November, or the winter months, sometimes the level of the lagoon rises high enough for the water to flood some of the streets. So, my first experience with high water was when I came out to the front door of the hostel one morning and found the water coming into the entrance. You can buy plastic coverings for your boots, you can wait it out, or, as in my case, walk out into the water, if it isn't too high, with waterproof boots. I was going to wait it out, then changed my mind and, as you'll see later, that delay caused me to miss the airport bus, later, and I had to pay for a much more expensive cab ride. In some of the videos you'll see that boards have been set up on metal stands, in various places, so people can step up and walk along the platforms to avoid getting their shoes wet when the water rises. In one of the videos, during one of the 'Nightwalks,' I think, you'll hear the high water warning alarm in the background. It was really spooky the first time I heard it because I didn't know what it was, and because it was like 2 or 3 in the morning when I heard it for the first time.
