Destination REM #6 | McGill au cœur des défis du tunnel Mont-Royal
Christian Ducharme, Vice-President of Engineering at CDPQ Infra, faces a major challenge. In 2020, the teams working on the REM noted the advanced state of deterioration of the century-old infrastructure of Mont-Royal Tunnel, particularly due to de-icing salt and an aging infrastructure. In this episode, Christian Ducharme meets with Jean Habimana, an expert in tunnels and underground structures (Hatch), and Isabel Fernandez, Site Manager, Downtown Segment (NouvLR), to explore the umbrella method, the engineering solution implemented to replace the deteriorated double vault near the future McGill station.
