BEST DEFENCE Against Being KICKED on the Ground in a Street Fight
How to fight and avoid being kicked in the face when trying to stand up from the ground is an important skill for self defence training. Let’s face it you may get pushed or simply fall over during a fight, either way it is a good idea to get back up on your feet as soon as possible. Learning how to fight safely involves the skill of standing up without being punched or kicked even more. How you actually stand up is critical. This week’s how to fight video looks at the common mistakes most people make trying to get to their feet when their attacker is standing over them. Of course for your own self defence, if someone is standing over you, don’t try to simply sit up. Your attacker will punch or kick you in the face or worst your attacker may simply push you down again and sit on top of you and punch you. As always when trying to defend yourself in a fight you must first protect your head from punches and kicks. This will require that you make sure that your head is not near or lined up to your attackers feet. An obvious point you may think, but many panic when fallen and end up simply trying to spring back to their feet. Of course this will be your instinct, but don’t move, take stock of your position and try to get your head in a safe position away from the hard concrete floor. Once you’ve achieved an upright position as discussed in our video, then it is time to stand up. How and when you stand up depends on if your attacker is moving. The Second part of our video looks at your attacker’s movement. If they circle or move around to kick you then you must adjust your position in the fight. This will mean that you have to move around on the ground in the manner shown in our video. The last stage of our video will show you exactly how to stand in a strong manner that will make it difficult for your attacker to force you back on the ground again.
