Journée de sensibilisation à l'interprétation : 2e édition

The FTI-EII organized the 2nd annual Interpreting Awareness Day (JSI). The goal was to demystify the interpreting profession and the studies that lead to it. The day was structured around three main components: 1) workshops with exercises related to interpreting and preparing for interpreting (raising awareness of the challenges and processes involved in interpreting) 2) a large multilingual debate during which students tried their hand at conference interpreting, as well as the role of delegate 3) a meeting with alumni who are now working as interpreters to share their experiences. A "crash booth" was available, allowing non-interpreter students to try interpreting a simple speech simultaneously while being filmed and broadcast on another screen so their classmates could enjoy the experience.
