Technical details: Access: From Transalpina Romania on Stefanu Saddle to Valea Măcesului or Mălaia (and vice versa) Route type: Off-Road – dirt road, stone, rock, criss-crossed gulches, puddles, and mud Distance: 43 km Obstacles: trees, wood left over from logging, rocks Motorcycle type: dual-sport, enduro and adventure motorbikes for experienced riders GSM signal: on some sections the GSM signal is non-existent Strategica Trail is recommended for motorcyclists with off-road experience !! Strategica or "Strategic Road" is an old military road in Romania, built by the Germans (even by Erwin Rommel) during the First World War and starts from the King's Road (Transalpina), from 1915 meters above sea level, and continues, a few tens of meters below , the ridge of the Latorița mountains, offering perspectives on the mountains that surround them: Parâng, Căpățănii, Lotrului, as well as the valleys that separate them: Latoriţa and Lotrului. It is a superb Off-Road route with medium difficulty and wonderful landscapes. I recommend doing it if you have the opportunity.
