Full Steam Ahead: A Day at the Hesston Steam Museum

Filmed on July 12th & 27th, 2025 at the Hesston Steam Museum H.K. Porter #2 was built in 1911 for the United Fruit Company to haul bananas in Guatemala. It was retired and eventually made its was into the hand of Mr. Elliot Donnely, a successful business owner and publisher in Chicago, Illinois. He then donated the #2 to the Hesston Steam Museum. In 1985 the engine was destroyed in a roundhouse fire that also destroyed other equipment such as the Shay #7, the Henschel & Son #1, among other equipment. Beginning in the Mid 2000's, Mr. Ted Rita of the Hesston Steam Museum decided to restore the #2 to its former glory. On Labor Day Weekend, 2019 the H.K. Porter #2 officially entered service on the Hesston & Galena Creek Narrow Gauge Railroad. Take a look with us as we watch, ride, and enjoy the #2, Kiddieland Limited, and The Craftsman Railroad. ▬ Contents of this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Intro - 0:00 Day One : July 12th, 2025 - 0:11 Day Two : July 27th, 2025 - 34:07
