First day at the Rencontres d'Arles 2026. I get off the train and try to keep my eyes fresh, the eyes that haven't seen anything yet. I push open the doors to the first exhibitions of opening week, under the theme "Worlds to Reread," before ending the evening at Inland x Hahnemühle, at The Battle: a ring, teams of photographers, images clashing and being applauded as if in a match.
