During World War II, the French were trying to replace the Bertier rifles with the new MAS 36. When Germany invaded France, rifle production ceased, officially. When production resumed. Some of the updates were implemented on the newer MAS 36 and then even after that, these up to date MAS 36 rifles Made their way into US surplus. So what are the differences between a pre-World War II and a post World War II MAS 36?
